Another Road Trip

Hello All, Grace and Peace be to you!

My family and I went to a concentration camp here in Belgium. Breendonk is one of many here in Europe. It was sobering to say the least. We have just returned and I am too worn out to type, so I will post some pictures, and elaborate further tomorrow.

GOD Bless You!

Happy Easter!

Hello All, Grace and Peace be to you! Happy Resurrection Sunday! GOD Bless You!

THE STORY OF EDITH BURNS... Long, but worth reading!

Happy Easter!

Edith Burns was a wonderful Christian who lived in San Antonio, Texas . She was the patient of a doctor by the name of Will Phillips. Dr. Phillips was a gentle doctor who saw patients as people. His favorite patient was Edith Burns.

One morning he went to his office with a heavy heart and it was because of Edith Burns. When he walked into that waiting room, there sat Edith with her big black Bible in her lap earnestly talking to a young mother sitting beside her.

Edith Burns had a habit of introducing herself in this way: "Hello, my name is Edith Burns. Do you believe in Easter?" Then she would explain the meaning of Easter, and many times people would be saved.

Dr. Phillips walked into that office and there he saw the head nurse, Beverly. Beverly had first met Edith when she was taking her blood pressure. Edith began by saying,"My name is Edith Burns. Do you believe in Easter?"

Beverly said, "Why yes I do."

Edith said, "Well, what do you believe about Easter?"

Beverly said, "Well, it's all about egg hunts, going to church, and dressing up." Edith kept pressing her about the real meaning of Easter, and finally led her to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Dr. Phillips said, " Beverly , don't call Edith into the office quite yet. I believe there is another delivery taking place in the waiting room.

After being called back in the doctor's office, Edith sat down and when she took a look at the doctor she said, "Dr.. Will, why are you so sad? Are you reading your Bible? Are you praying?"

Dr. Phillips said gently, "Edith, I'm the doctor and you're the patient" With a heavy heart he said, "Your lab report came back and it says you have cancer, and Edith, you're not going to live very long."

Edith said, "Why Will Phillips, shame on you. Why are you so sad? Do you think God makes mistakes? You have just told me I'm going to see my precious Lord Jesus, my husband, and my friends. You have just told me that I am going to celebrate Easter forever, and here you are having difficulty giving me my ticket!"

Dr. Phillips thought to himself, "What a magnificent woman this Edith Burns is!"

Edith continued coming to Dr. Phillips. Christmas came and the office was closed through January 3rd. On the day the office opened, Edith did not show up. Later that afternoon, Edith called Dr. Phillips and said she would have to be moving her story to the hospital and said, "Will, I'm very near home, so would you make sure that they put women in here next to me in my room who need to know about Easter."

Well, they did just that and women began to come in and share that room with Edith. Many women were saved. Everybody on that floor from staff to patients were so excited about Edith, that they started calling her Edith Easter; that is everyone except Phyllis Cross, the head nurse.

Phyllis made it plain that she wanted nothing to do with Edith because she was a "religious nut". She had been a nurse in an army hospital. She had seen it all and heard it all. She was the original G..I. Jane. She had been married three times, she was hard, cold, and did everything by the book.

One morning the two nurses who were to attend to Edith were sick.

Edith had the flu and Phyllis Cross had to go in and give her a shot. When she walked in, Edith had a big smile on her face and said, "Phyllis, God loves you and I love you, and I have been praying for you."

Phyllis Cross said, "Well, you can quit praying for me, it won't work.. I'm not interested."

Edith said, "Well, I will pray and I have asked God not to let me go home until you come into the family."

Phyllis Cross said, "Then you will never die because that will never happen," and curtly walked out of the room.

Every day Phyllis Cross would walk into the room and Edith would say, "God loves you Phyllis and I love you, and I'm praying for you."

One day Phyllis Cross said she was literally drawn to Edith's room like a magnet would draw iron. She sat down on the bed and Edith said, "I'm so glad you have come, because God told me that today is your special day"

Phyllis Cross said, "Edith, you have asked everybody here the question, "Do you believe in Easter but you have never asked me."

Edith said, "Phyllis, I wanted to many times, but God told me to wait until you asked, and now that you have asked." Edith Burns took her Bible and shared with Phyllis Cross the Easter Story of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Edith said, "Phyllis, do you believe in Easter? Do you believe that Jesus Christ is alive and that He wants to live in your heart?"

Phyllis Cross said, "Oh I want to believe that with all of my heart, and I do want Jesus in my life "Right there, Phyllis Cross prayed and invited Jesus Christ into her heart. For the first time Phyllis Cross did not walk out of a hospital room, she was carried out on the wings of angels.

Two days later, Phyllis Cross came in and Edith said, "Do you know what day it is?" Phyllis Cross said, "Why Edith, it's Good Friday."

Edith said, "Oh, no, for you every day is Easter. Happy Easter Phyllis!"

Two days later, on Easter Sunday, Phyllis Cross came into work, did some of her duties and then went down to the flower shop and got some Easter lilies because she wanted to go up to see Edith and give her some Easter lilies and wish her a Happy Easter.

When she walked into Edith's room, Edith was in bed. That big black Bible was on her lap. Her hands were in that Bible. There was a sweet smile on her face. When Phyllis Cross went to pick up Edith's hand, she realized Edith was dead. Her left hand was on John 14: "In my Father's house are many mansions. I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also." Her right hand was on Revelation 21:4, "And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, there shall be no more death nor sorrow, nor crying; and there shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away."

Phyllis Cross took one look at that dead body, and then lifted her face toward heaven, and with tears streaming down here cheeks, said, "Happy Easter, Edith - Happy Easter!"

Phyllis Cross left Edith's body, walked out of the room, and over to a table where two student nurses were sitting. She said, "My name is Phyllis Cross. Do you believe in Easter?"

Hello All, Grace and Peace be to you!

Thank you for putting up with my reposts last week. I am back for two days and then I am off to explore some of Europe. For the next few weeks, I will be away off and on, so be patient with me as I have fun with my family.

I was thinking about Romans 3:23-25...
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of GOD;
24 Being justified freely by HIS GRACE through the redemption that is in CHRIST JESUS:
25 Whom GOD hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in HIS blood, to declare HIS righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of GOD.

I love these verses! Because I have sinned, I could never reach the standard of perfection that GOD demands, but though I sinned, HE sent JESUS to pay my penalty, and now because of my FAITH in what JESUS has done, GOD sees me through the blood of HIS SON and it is if I had never sinned. I am completely forgiven! I have HEAVEN as my home!!! I am so excited!!!

JUSTIFIED...JUST IF I'D never sinned!

Thank YOU FATHER, Thank YOU JESUS, Thank YOU HOLY SPIRIT...Thank YOU...GOD!

Hello All, Grace and Peace be to you!

I came across this post on another site, and WITH permission, I am posting it to share with you. These are so funny! Enjoy!!!

The e-mail says they are taken from actual high school essay's and collected by English teacher's across the country for their own amusement. Some of these kid's may have bright futures as humor writer's. What do you think?

1. Her face was a perfect oval, like a circle that had its two sides gently compressed by a ThighMaster.

2. His thoughts tumbled in his head, making and breaking alliances like underpants in a dryer without Cling Free.

3. He spoke with the wisdom that can only come from experience, like a guy who went blind because he looked at a solar eclipse without one of those boxes with a pinhole in it and now goes around the country speaking at high schools about the dangers of looking at a solar eclipse without one of those boxes with a pinhole in it.

4. She grew on him like she was a colony of E. Coli, and he was room-temperature Canadian beef.

5. She had a deep, throaty, genuine laugh, like that sound a dog makes just before it throws up.

6. Her vocabulary was as bad as, like, whatever.

7. He was as tall as a six-foot, three-inch tree.

8. The revelation that his marriage of 30 years had disintegrated because of his wife’s infidelity came as a rude shock, like a surcharge at a formerly surcharge-free ATM machine.

9. The little boat gently drifted across the pond exactly the way a bowling ball wouldn’t.

10. McBride fell 12 stories, hitting the pavement like a Hefty bag filled with vegetable soup.

11. From the attic came an unearthly howl. The whole scene had an eerie, surreal quality, like when you’re on vacation in another city and Jeopardy comes on at 7:00 p.m. instead of 7:30.

12. Her hair glistened in the rain like a nose hair after a sneeze.

13. The hailstones leaped from the pavement, just like maggots when you fry them in hot grease.

14. Long separated by cruel fate, the star-crossed lovers raced across the grassy field toward each other like two freight trains, one having left Cleveland at 6:36 p.m. traveling at 55 mph, the other from Topeka at 4:19 p.m. at a speed of 35 mph.

15. They lived in a typical suburban neighborhood with picket fences that resembled Nancy Kerrigan’s teeth.

16. John and Mary had never met. They were like two hummingbirds who had also never met.

17. He fell for her like his heart was a mob informant, and she was the East River.

18. Even in his last years, Granddad had a mind like a steel trap, only one that had been left out so long it had rusted shut.

19. Shots rang out, as shots are wont to do.

20. The plan was simple, like my brother-in-law Phil. But unlike Phil, this plan just might work.

21. The young fighter had a hungry look, the kind you get from not eating for a while.

22. He was as lame as a duck. Not the metaphorical lame duck, either, but a real duck that was actually lame, maybe from stepping on a land mine or something.

23. The ballerina rose gracefully en Pointe and extended one slender leg behind her, like a dog at a fire hydrant.

24. It was an American tradition, like fathers chasing kids around with power tools.

25. He was deeply in love. When she spoke, he thought he heard bells, as if she were a garbage truck backing up.

Hello All, Grace and Peace be to you!

In Ephesians 6:10-20 says...

My Brethren, be strong in the LORD and in the power of HIS might. Put on the whole armor of GOD, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of GOD, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the SPIRIT, which is the WORD of GOD; praying always with all supplication in the SPIRIT, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

The next piece is “THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT”. Without this piece, we could not use the other pieces. What is the SWORD OF THE SPIRIT? It is the WORD OF GOD, without it we would not be able to put on TRUST, RIGHTEOUSNESS, THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE, FAITH, and SALVATION.

Who is the “SPIRIT? HE is ONE of THREE of the triune GODHEAD, also known as the trinity, The FATHER, SON and HOLY SPIRIT. These THREE PERSONS are one in substance and exists in perfect unity. The word trinity is not in the BIBLE, but we find the first reference to the trinity in Genesis. In the first chapter of Genesis the reference to GOD comes from ELOHIM. The “IM” at the end of ELOH, is plural, but they are not three gods, THEY are one GOD. We see this in Deuteronomy 6:4…” Hear O Israel: The LORD our GOD, the LORD is one! Ephesians 4:5 says…One LORD, one faith, one baptism. 1 John 5:7 says…For there are three who bear witness in heaven: the FATHER, the WORD and the HOLY SPIRIT; and these three are one. John 1:1 says… In the beginning was the WORD, and the WORD was with GOD, and the WORD was GOD.

So, we see that the HOLY SPIRIT is one with GOD, but with HIS own distinct personality. What is the responsibility of the HOLY SPIRIT? 2Timothy 3:16 says… All SCRIPTURE is given by inspiration of GOD (The SPIRIT), and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. He came to give us the WORD of GOD! HE says that it is profitable for doctrine, the doctrine of JESUS (GOD the SON) coming in the flesh to save us from our sins and eternal punishment. John 15:26 says…But when the HELPER (SPIRIT) comes, whom I shall send to you from the FATHER, the SPIRIT of truth who proceeds from the FATHER, HE will testify of ME (JESUS).

HE corrects us of sin. John 16:8-11… And when HE (The SPIRIT) has come, HE will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in ME; of righteousness, because I go to MY FATHER and you see me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.

HE instructs us. John 14:26… But the HELPER, the HOLY SPIRIT, whom the FATHER will send in MY name, HE will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

The SPIRIT has come to do much more, to guide, John 16:13; to give power to believers to have victory over the flesh, Galatians 5:16; to comfort, John 14:16; to intercede and assist in prayer, Romans 8:26, 27, and the list goes on and on.

The BIBLE says that if we do not have the HOLY SPIRIT, we are not HIS. (CHRIST’S) Romans 8:9 says…But you are not in the flesh but in the SPIRIT, if indeed the SPIRIT of GOD dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the SPIRIT of CHRIST, he is not HIS. Apart from the SPIRIT, we will not understand that things of the SPIRIT.
The enemy being apart from the SPIRIT does not truly understand the scriptures. Being SPIRIT filled, we can defeat satan by studying and using the SWORD of the SPIRIT .

To be able to put on the armor, the HOLY SPIRIT has to be present in us and we must believe in faith that what the SPIRIT has given us in the SCRIPTURE is true, and we can put on salvation, truth, faith, righteousness, the gospel of peace, using the sword of the spirit to bring down every stronghold the enemy tries to ensnare us with.

In conclusion, we should all pray diligently for all saints all over the world who battle as we do. Though we may not be in physical chains as Paul was, let not the chains of fear keep us from fighting the good fight by being bold to open our mouths to share the gospel to who will listen, for we too, are ambassadors for CHRIST.

GOD Bless You!
